Diane Farr is the author of a dozen novels, a few plays, a weekly newspaper column, and a novella, all of which have been published by somebody or other. She is self-publishing lately–an experience she recommends to any writer who dislikes high-stakes phone calls with way-too-powerful people in New York.
Diane, I just wanted to let you know that re-reading some of your regencies that I already had, reading more of your books on my nook, and discovering “Wicked Cool”, has really helped me get through this past year after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I started radiation last week, and while so far it is a breeze compared to the 6 rounds of chemo I had, it was nice to bring my copy of “The Nobody” along with me to the waiting room. I have made a waiting room buddy, and after we both discovered we had the same kind of cancer, we also quickly learned that we share the same reading taste!! I have already told her about “Wicked Cool”, and how I am waiting anxiously for the sequel! 🙂 No pressure!! Anyway, I love your books, and your sense of humor. My mother, who happens to be my main caregiver, was recently hospitalized for 3 weeks….. guess whose books accompanied her? She loved them all! Thank you for being such a great writer and helping me take my mind off of my illness. Cheryl Bos, Atlanta, Ga.
Cheryl, I am overwhelmed. Will email you privately (once I collect myself). I can’t believe, with all that you are facing, that you took the time to share this story with me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Cheryl, I have emailed you privately … I hope I didn’t end up in your spam box!
Diane, I wanted to know if you had any advice to offer me as I just published my first novel and am attempting to start a blog of my own. I am a novice at this and you definitely have a handle on things. I want to know how to make my blog more inviting and attract an audience. C. Michelle Ramsey, Atlanta, GA
Congratulations on publishing your first novel! I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but I’m no expert on blogging. I would advise you to try to be more consistent than I am. LOL! Please share a link to your blog; I’d love to check it out.
Thanks Diane for your words of wisdom and encouragement it means a great deal. You can find me @ http://cmichelleramsey.blogspot.com/
